Dr. Kulbhushan K. Sharma, MD, FACS, RVT
From 1996-2005 Dr. Sharma worked at major valley hospitals as a well regarded general and vascular surgeon. He performed major vascular surgeries including aneurysms of the major arteries, aretheroclosis, and blockage of lower extremities. He treats these conditions with stents and bypasses of the lower extremities. After becoming medical director of Arizona Vein and Laser Institute in 2005, Dr. Sharma has performed over ten thousand thermal ablations for the treatment of varicose veins with great success. He routinely offers expert advice on Venous Disease on “Sonoran Living” and “Your Life A to Z”.
Dr. Sharma was nominated as the top vascular surgeon by the Consumer Research Council of America three times in a row. Dr. Sharma takes pride in the fact that he was one of the few vascular surgeons who were trained by the world famous cardiothoracic surgeons, Dr. Edward Diethrich, in endovascular procedure in 1995.
Education: Dr. Sharma obtained his MD Degree from a prestigious institution in India. He received his Masters in Surgery from Patna Medical University after completing his MD/MBBS Degree at Gaya Medical College.
Residency: Dr. Sharma completed residency in General Surgery from Bronx Lebanon Medical Center in Bronx, NY affiliated to Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1994. After completing his residency he proceeded to the State of Arizona to do his fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Arizona Heart Institute under the world of renowned cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Edward Dietrich in 1995. After completing his vascular fellowship Dr. Sharma worked as one of the top vascular and general surgery in several valley hospitals. He performed major vascular surgeries in all these hospitals. He treated patients with aneurysms and claudifications in the lower extremities. He performed carotid stents and surgeries for aneurysms in the carotid arteries. He also performed several abdominal aorta aneurysms AAA surgeries; several bypass procedures in the legs to increase the blood flow due to claudication or atherosclerosis. He also performed several vein stripping procedures on patients with varicose vein symptoms. Dr. Sharma is the founder and medical director of the Arizona Vein and Laser Institute since 2005 where he has been treating patients with venous disorders and has performed over 10,000 endogenous laser ablations with great results. Dr. Sharma was nominated three times in a row in 2010, 2011 and 2012 as the top vascular surgeon of America by consumer research council of America. He has memberships in American College of Phlebology, Fellow of American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Vascular Society of Dr. Edward Dietrich. Today, Dr. Sharma Is the original Founder and Medical Director of the Arizona Vein and Laser Institute, which he established in 2005. The Arizona Vein and Laser Institute began with its first location in Glendale, Arizona and has since grown to four locations: Glendale, Avondale, Surprise, Chandler and North Phoenix.

Dr. Charles Hecht
Dr. Charles Hecht grew up in New York city. He graduated with Bachelor degree from New York university and an MD from State University of NY upstate Medical Center.
Dr. Hecht did his residency in General Surgery at Ohio State University including several rotations in vascular surgery. He has been practicing as a general surgeon in the valley at major hospitals since 1980.
Dr. Hecht joined Arizona Vein and Laser Institute in 2014 as a vein specialist and has since been treating patients with venous disorders at the institute.

Dale N. Payne MD, FACS, PhD
Dr. Payne received his MD degree from Ohio State University of Medicine and Public Health in 1979. Then he proceeded to do the internship in General Surgery at the prestigious UCLA school of medicine, Los Angeles, CA. He was at Cal UCLA for one year and then he decided to do his full residency in General Surgery from University of California at Davis school of medicine from 1981 through 1984.
Dr. Payne did his fellowship in Thoracic Surgery from University of Pittsburgh school of medicine, Pittsburgh, PA from 1984 through 1986.
After doing his fellowship, Dr. Payne has practiced in the field of thoracic and cardiovascular for over thirty years now at major hospitals in the valley.
Dr. Payne held a clinical professor post at University of Arizona for three years where he taught medical students cardiovascular subjects before joining the Arizona Vein and Laser Institute in 2013 as full-time vein specialist.
Dr. Payne is a member of American College of Phlebology and Fellow of American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Roger Hucek, MD
Dr. Hucek specializes in cardiovascular surgery and has been practicing for 44 years. Dr. Hucek comes to Arizona Vein & Laser Institute with medical hospital affiliations such as Dignity Health – Chandler Regional Medical Center, Abrazo Maryvale Campus, Abrazo Central Campus, Abrazo West Campus and Abrazo Arrowhead Campus and Dignity Health – Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
His Education is extensive, starting in 1973 with the Ohio State University College of Medical and Public Health. He spent his internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland Ohio from 1973 – 1974. He then went on and spent an extensive time learning his skills in Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in general surgery from 1974 – 1976. He had the opportunity to spend more time growing in his Residency skills at the Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio from 1976 – 1978 in general surgery. His last stop of Residency as a Cardiovascular Surgeon was spent at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1978 – 1980.
Dr. Hucek comes to the Arizona Vein & Laser Institute with these areas of focus in both Phlebology and PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) in Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Hucek also floats between Glendale and Chandler offices through Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM (Please call to confirm)
Frany M. – Lead Scheduler
Frany M. has been with Arizona Vein and Laser now for more than six years. She has excellent communication skills over the phone and in person. She is a very compassionate person and never misses an opportunity to show that to everyone who visits the clinic. Her great sense of humor is very well received with everyone.
Mariah W. – Insurance Billing Dept.
Mariah W. has been with Arizona Vein and Laser for more than a year now and continues to do excellent job with insurance billing as a whole. She is always eager to resolve billing issues and works diligently on daily basis with the insurance companies and our patients. Misael V. – Ultrasound/Vascular Tech
Misael Valdez graduated from the West Coast Ultrasound Institute in 2013 and he has been one of the lead techs with Arizona Vein and Laser institute since then. He graduated with high marks and is a very caring individual and attentive listener. Misael V. will never miss a beat when it comes to performing the venous studies with accuracy. He is preparing for the RVT degree at this time.
Levinia M. – Ultrasound Tech
Leviania M. originally comes form Romania and she is one of recent addition to the Arizona Vein and Laser staff. She is bilingual and she brings with her the cultural diversity of her native place. Levinia is a very hard working individual and she is very caring with everyone.
Carlos – Ultrasound
Carlos Martinez came to us with a lot of radiology experience. He is bilingual, very thorough, and very kind-hearted. He has joined our list of ultrasound technologists and is a wonderful addition to our team.
